Teeing It Up Again at the 19th Annual Mickey Steele Celebrity Golf Tournament

This past Friday, Elevator Control Service had the privilege of sponsoring this great event! ⛳️ That makes it 🔟 years and counting. And a great event it was. We had three groups playing and even though none of them put up the winning score, a fun time was had. We were even able to finish up the tournament before that bad storm blew through.🌩️ Check out the photos, videos and highlights of the event below:

✅Many former Washington Redskins were in attendance including several from the ’82, ’87 and ’91 Super Bowl teams. Former players of other local pro sports teams were also there to support.
✅Mark Rypien, Super Bowl XXVI MVP, spoke to the group about cancer and his son, Andrew, and the foundation he created on his behalf to support children with cancer – The Rypien Foundation
✅Country singer and Maryland’s own, Jimmy Charles, performed a warming a cappella rendition of the National Anthem.
✅Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan provided us some kind words and inspiration about the benefits of events like this
✅Tim Gough, an event organizer, spoke on behalf of the Special Olympics of Maryland ahead of his son Tommy, taking the tee box for his ceremonial opening drive. He noted over $2M raised last year with the expectation to hit $3M this year!

👏Thank you to the organizers at Queenstown Harbor Golf Course for setting up the course perfectly and making this event possible! Another thank you to all the vendors and other sponsors for their contributions. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Special Olympics of Maryland and the The EVAN Foundation. Please let’s keep the goodwill going and donate to these or any other causes near and dear to you.
